Though the national anthem (The Star Spangled Banner) is meaningul, this song rings truer to my thoughts on being an American.

Vine & Fig Tree At first, you might wonder why this is on the United States page as it covers a whole lot of topics that are certainly not nationalistic... but then you might run across pages like Holy Trinity Church v. The United States where the United States Supreme Court is quoted... and 100 or so other links discuss present-day national issues in a historical perspective. If you enjoy a good workout, this site is not easy. It has 1000+ pages on a myriad of topics, and presents radical thoughts, but not in a popular sense... it does not demand the reader accept the author's viewpoints.
